Boiler Grant Scheme is a part of Governments ECO Scheme, which is aimed at reducing carbon emission. A percentage of your tax is paid to the Big Six energy suppliers. Now, these companies are obliged to help the
government in reducing carbon emission by funding free boilers and home insulation to eligible citizens of the Great Britain. Under ECO scheme, or Energy Company Obligation scheme, private tenants and home owners could have their inefficient boilers replaced for free, or heavily subsidized.

Under ECO (Energy Company Obligation) scheme, if you are qualifying citizen you could have your boiler replaced for free. This means that you don’t have to pay any money at any time. An energy assessment is carried out free of charge before the amount of funding is determined, if required new heating controls are also installed.

Do you Qualify?

You need to meet certain conditions to become eligible for Boiler Grant Scheme. To qualify you need to meet the following conditions

  1. You must be a home owner or private tenant
  2. You must be receiving Income Related benefits from the Government
  3. You use Mains Gas, Oil or LPG supply to use your boiler
  4. Your current boiler is more than 5 years old.

Why Should You Replace your Boiler?

If your boiler is old and in-efficient, by replacing it with a new, fully functional boiler you can reduce your energy bills by £300 per/year. Modern boilers are 90% more efficient than old boilers. Using a modern boiler will dramatically reduce your energy consumption and carbon emission. It is important for a sustainable environment to reduce the carbon emission. If you have an old boiler, replace it with a modern boiler for free under Boiler Grant Scheme, and reduce your energy bills.
